Moose Lasagna

There is no better meat for lasagna than moose. This lasagna uses ground moose with a sour cream blend for a savory and filling lasagna that will have you coming back for more.

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Makes 6 Servings

Ingredients:

2 pounds ground moose

1 box lasagna noodles

1 red pepper

1 yellow pepper

1 yellow onion

2 celery stalks

½ cup mayonnaise

½ cup sour cream

½ can tomato sauce

1 can tomato paste

½ can stewed tomatoes

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

  1. Chop vegetables into ½ inch pieces, add to the pan and season, cook halfway.

  2. Add moose meat with vegetables, season, cook until browned.

  3. When the meat is browned, add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and stewed tomatoes. Cook until boiling. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning.

  4. In a separate pot, cook lasagna noodles according to box directions.

  5. In a mixing bowl, add mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, and ¼ cup shredded cheese. Mix together.

  6. Once noodles and sauce are cooked. Add a ½” layer of sauce to the bottom of the tray. Add noodles over the sauce. Add the entire sour cream blend over noodles. Add noodles over sour cream blend, add sauce over noodles, repeat until no sauce remains. Top with cheddar cheese.

  7. Cover with tinfoil and place the tray in the oven, cook at 425’ for 30 minutes, covered with tinfoil. Remove after 30 minutes, broil uncovered for 7 minutes.

  8. Let lasagna sit for 10 minutes, serve.
