Ultimate Venison Breakfast Burger

The perfect recipe for leftover venison burgers. Crispy bacon and American cheese balance out the one of a kind taste of ground mule deer. For perfect venison burger patties, make your burger mixture, roll it onto a baking sheet with a rolling pin until you have the right thickness, then use a large mug to cut out the shape of your patties. Put the baking sheet in the freezer and set aside your perfect burger patties.

Makes 2 Burgers

 

Ingredients:

4 Slices Whole Wheat Toast

2 Venison Patties

6 strips of bacon

2 eggs

2 slices of american cheese

Hot Sauce Optional

Instructions

1. Cook bacon strips in a non-stick pan over medium heat, once cooked, remove bacon, leaving grease in the pan to cook the patties.

2. Add venison patties to the pan with bacon grease, cook 2 minutes on each side, set aside.

3. Drain bacon grease and clean the pan. Reheat the pan adding olive oil. Cook eggs for 90 seconds on each side, keeping yolks intact if possible. 

4. Toast and butter whole wheat bread, add egg, venison patty, cheese, and bacon. Top with hot sauce, salt, and pepper.
